The Centi Burger, the 1926 Pizza and the Rest of Placentia's 100th-Birthday Menu

The City of Placentia's Fall 2026 Centennial calendar has three entries on it. The same issue of the city's Palm Quarterly lists fourteen restaurants, bars and bakeries selling something made for the city's 100th birthday. One of those calendar entries, Symphony in the Park on September 12, has already happened. The other two are the Placentia Library Local History Lecture Series on October 21 and the Centennial Birthday Celebration on December 5.

So on most days between now and the party, the Centennial is something you order. The menu is spread across five commercial streets, and every item follows its own business's hours. One donut is sold only on Thursdays and Fridays, at a shop that closes in the early afternoon. One cookie is a Saturday item. One cocktail is served at a post that's closed two days a week. Which day you go matters more than the date on the calendar.

The program more than doubled after spring

The city launched the idea as the Centennial Business Partnership Program. Its March 26, 2026 weekly briefing named eight participants. Six were food or drink businesses: Tlaquepaque Restaurant, Broken Timbers Brewing Company, Campitelli Cookies, The Donut Chain, La Cova and Avalon Bagels to Burgers. The other two were Social Butterfly Boutique and a law office. Participating storefronts show official Centennial Partnership decals.

By the Fall 2026 quarterly, the list had grown to seventeen businesses. Fourteen sell food or drink. The newer additions include Craft Burger Co., Pepz Pizza & Eatery, Clyde's Hot Chicken, Craftsman Wood Fired Pizza, Fresh Off the Boat, JD's Wingz, Crafted Cone and the American Legion.

The original six leaned toward citrus. In March the city described La Cova's Golden Citrus Centennial drink as inspired by Placentia's agricultural roots. Tlaquepaque's two Centenario cocktails use fresh citrus. The fall additions kept going in that direction with Clyde's float and Avalon's citrus smoothie, and they added bigger, heavier dishes alongside.

Where everything is

Most of the menu sits in four clusters: north Kraemer Boulevard, Yorba Linda Boulevard, the Santa Fe Avenue end of Old Town, and East Imperial Highway. Two stops sit apart from the rest, JD's Wingz on Chapman and Pepz on Rose Drive.

Addresses come from each business's own site where one was available: Craft Burger Co., Clyde's Hot Chicken, Pepz, JD's Wingz, Fresh Off the Boat and Avalon. The rest come from the city's listing. Craftsman's address appears there as 148 Yorba Linda Boulevard, with no east or west.

What you're actually ordering

The newer items are full meals. Craft Burger's Centi Burger is an Angus patty with grilled onions, jalapeños, melted cheese, crispy onions and house Thousand Island dressing on a toasted brioche bun. Pepz named its pie after what the city's listing calls Placentia's founding year. The 1926 Pizza is a #Placentia100 build with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and basil. At Craftsman, the Centennial Pizza combines garlic ricotta, mozzarella, bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, pears and bleu cheese, finished with a balsamic-honey drizzle.

Fresh Off the Boat's Centennial Tacos put grilled shrimp and steak on warm corn tortillas, topped with shredded cheese, pico de gallo and house-made sauces. JD's Wingz took its idea from elote: the limited-time Centennial Wing comes in a house-made lime, chili and crema sauce.

For dessert there are two options a few blocks apart in style. Clyde's Centennial Citrus Float is vanilla and orange soda topped with whipped cream. Crafted Cone's "Cheers to 100" is a chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, gold glitter and festive toppings.

The drinks list is longer than most people would guess. The American Legion's Placentia Palm Breeze mixes Tito's vodka, cranberry, pineapple juice and fresh lime, and there's a mocktail version. The fall quarterly describes Broken Timbers' entry only as a limited-time drink and Tlaquepaque's as a specialty drink. In March the city named them more specifically. Broken Timbers had a Centennial Celebration Festbier with caramel notes and a clean finish. Tlaquepaque had a Centenario Margarita and a Centenario Paloma, both made with Centenario reposado tequila. Since the fall listing doesn't repeat those names, ask at the counter what's on tap or on the menu before you count on the Festbier or either cocktail.

Planning a crawl around the week

Because the business hours differ, some days of the week work much better than others:

  1. Thursday morning or Friday before early afternoon. The Donut Chain's Centennial donut, white frosting with blue-and-gold sprinkles, is sold only on Thursdays and Fridays. The shop's listed hours are 5:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday, so the window is early. Thursday is also the first day of the American Legion's Thursday-through-Monday week.
  2. Saturday. Campitelli Cookies sells its special-edition cookie every Saturday, and the city lists Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1029 E. Imperial Highway. In March the city described it as a sugar cookie with the City logo, also available by advance order. Crafted Cone is just down Imperial and opens at 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
  3. Sunday. Tlaquepaque opens at 10 a.m. Sundays, and Broken Timbers is listed from noon to 8 p.m., so the two Santa Fe Avenue stops fit one afternoon.
  4. Monday. Tlaquepaque is closed, and Broken Timbers' listed hours run Tuesday through Sunday. Kraemer Boulevard is the better plan, since Clyde's runs daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Craft Burger opens daily at 11 a.m.

Two non-food partners fit into the same errands. Sham-Paws, at 909 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., Suite J, gives a free nail trim with a self-wash bath when you mention the Centennial. It's closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Social Butterfly Boutique, at 1215 E. Imperial Highway, offers 15% off and a special gift on purchases of $100 or more.

No item has a posted end date

Neither city publication sets an end date for any of these items. Several of the fall descriptions say "limited-time" or "special edition" without saying how long. The source dates matter here too. The Festbier and the Centenario cocktails come from a March briefing. The fall flipbook's own description still calls itself the "Winter 2025/26" newsletter, even though it's titled Fall 2026. Before you drive across town for one item, call the business and ask whether it's still on the menu.

The city's own merchandise has a clearer setup. The Community Services front counter at City Hall sells a Centennial T-shirt for $20, water bottles for $20, keychains for $5, a sticker set for $1 and an afghan for $50. The same items are sold at city events.

The birthday is a Wednesday, and the party is three days later

The city's centennial notice gives Placentia's 100th birthday as December 2, 2026, which is a Wednesday. The celebration is the following Saturday, December 5, at Champions Sports Complex, 505 S. Jefferson St. The September 24 city newsletter promises carnival rides and games, live entertainment, food and drink, and a drone show to close the night. When the city announced its Centennial lineup in January, it called this date the "City Birthday Party and Tree Lighting Event."

City sources currently give two different times. The September 24 newsletter lists 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. The city calendar entry lists 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you're planning an early arrival, check the city's channels again closer to the date. The newsletter also said VIP tickets would become available in October and pointed to the Centennial website and @placentiacommunityservices on Instagram for announcements. Vendor applications and payment are due November 19.

From October 8, that leaves about eight weeks of Thursday and Friday donut runs and Saturday cookie stops before the drone show.

Every one of those fourteen businesses earned a spot on the city's list by doing something specific for Placentia's centennial. That's also how we sell homes: one clear plan, a deadline you can see, and every detail handled before the first buyer walks in.
